Please note: this itinerary can be customized according to your preferences and time constraints. The itinerary may vary depending on weather conditions, physical fitness, and the discretion of the trekking guide.
-
Your adventure begins with a scenic 1.5-hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, a small riverside village where the trail begins. From there, you’ll start walking through terraced farmland, crossing suspension bridges and passing small local settlements. Depending on your pace and energy level, you can stop for the night at Tikhedhunga or push a bit further uphill to Ulleri—a charming village perched at 1,960 meters after a famous stretch of steep stone steps.
-
Today is a steady uphill walk that takes you deeper into the Annapurna region. As you ascend through dense forests filled with rhododendron, oak, and magnolia, the views begin to open up. You’ll pass waterfalls and likely share the trail with mule trains and friendly locals. By late afternoon, you’ll reach Ghorepani, a beautiful ridge-top village at 2,860 meters that offers a first glimpse of the snow-covered Himalayan peaks. Rest well—the next morning begins early.
-
Wake up before dawn and hike about an hour to the summit of Poon Hill (3,210m). This is the highlight of the trek. Watching the sun rise over the majestic Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs, with Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) glowing in the morning light. After soaking in the views and snapping some photos, return to Ghorepani for breakfast. Then, continue trekking toward Tadapani, walking along forested ridges and shaded trails filled with moss and birdlife. You’ll reach Tadapani by afternoon, nestled among trees with grand mountain views.
-
The trail today descends gently through enchanting rhododendron forests and terraced farmland. In just 3 to 4 hours, you’ll reach Ghandruk, one of the most picturesque Gurung villages in Nepal. With stone houses, colorful gardens, and incredible views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli, it’s the perfect place to soak in the mountain atmosphere. Spend the afternoon exploring the village museum, chatting with locals, or relaxing with a warm cup of tea overlooking the peaks.
-
After breakfast, begin your final trek downhill through terraced fields and subtropical forests. Depending on trail conditions and timing, you’ll either finish at Kimche or continue to Syauli Bazaar or Nayapul. From the trail’s end, a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Pokhara—a drive of about 2 to 2.5 hours. Once in Pokhara, celebrate your journey with a delicious meal and perhaps a sunset walk around Phewa Lake.
