ITINERARY
This comprehensive itinerary allows for proper acclimatization and ensures a safe and memorable trekking experience in the Everest region.
Please note: this itinerary can be customized according to your preferences and time constraints. The itinerary may vary depending on weather conditions, physical fitness, and the discretion of the trekking guide.
-
Your adventure begins with a scenic full-day drive northward from Kathmandu to the small town of Syabrubesi. The road winds through hills blanketed in pine forests and terraced farmlands, alongside rivers that crash through deep gorges. As the journey unfolds, the bustling city fades into rural calm. You’ll reach Syabrubesi in the late afternoon, where you’ll check into a local teahouse and prepare for the trek ahead.
-
After breakfast, you set off along the banks of the Langtang Khola. The trail crosses several suspension bridges and weaves through sub-tropical forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo. This section of the trek is especially rich in birdlife, and if you’re lucky, you may even spot a red panda darting between the trees. After a steady climb of around six hours, you’ll arrive at Lama Hotel, a tranquil collection of lodges nestled in the forest.
-
Today the trail continues uphill, and the air starts to feel thinner as you enter higher elevations. The forest gradually gives way to open meadows, and soon, snow-capped peaks begin to emerge on the horizon. Along the way, you’ll pass prayer wheels, stone chortens, and mani walls etched with Tibetan inscriptions. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive at Langtang Village, a community that was tragically flattened by a massive landslide during the 2015 earthquake. The rebuilt village now stands as a testament to resilience and renewal, surrounded by panoramic mountain views.
-
A shorter but visually stunning day awaits as you ascend gradually through yak pastures and glacial valleys. You’ll cross wooden bridges over icy rivers and pass beneath cliffs adorned with fluttering prayer flags. By midday, you’ll reach Kyanjin Gompa, a serene village framed by mountains on all sides. Here, you can visit the local monastery, explore the surrounding fields, or simply take in the overwhelming beauty of Langtang Lirung looming overhead.
-
This rest day is yours to explore the high valley. Early risers can hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) or the more challenging Tserko Ri (4,984m) for sweeping sunrise views across the Langtang Himal and beyond. From these summits, the glaciated peaks stretch endlessly in all directions—truly a reward for your efforts. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, spend the day visiting the yak cheese factory, wandering through the valley, or watching local herders lead their animals across the pastures.
-
Refreshed and full of mountain memories, you begin your descent. The return to Lama Hotel follows the same trail but offers a new perspective on the landscapes you’ve crossed. The pace is easier going downhill, giving you more time to enjoy the views and reflect on the journey so far. After arriving back in the forested lodge at Lama Hotel, settle in for a quiet evening with warm food and cool mountain air.
-
Your final trekking day takes you once again through the dense forests and along the rushing Langtang River. The familiar bridges and trails now feel like old friends. By early afternoon, you’ll reach Syabrubesi, where your trekking adventure began. Enjoy your last evening in the mountains—perhaps with a celebratory drink and one last look at the peaks that have followed you through the journey.
