  • Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a Lost in the Himalaya representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After checking in, you’ll receive a detailed trek briefing and have time to explore Thamel, Kathmandu’s lively cultural and trekking hub.

  • Before heading to the mountains, spend the day exploring the cultural and historical wonders of Kathmandu Valley. Visit Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), an ancient Buddhist site offering panoramic views of Kathmandu. Explore the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most important Hindu shrine, where spiritual rituals take place along the Bagmati River. The tour continues to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, surrounded by colorful prayer flags and monasteries. End the day with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a historic palace complex showcasing Nepal’s rich architectural heritage. After sightseeing, we prepare for the trek, ensuring all gear and essentials are ready for the journey ahead.

  • The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to Langtang National Park. The drive takes us through winding mountain roads, terraced fields, and riverside villages, offering glimpses of rural Nepalese life. As we ascend, we start to see the first views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges.

  • Our trek officially begins as we follow the Langtang River, crossing several suspension bridges and passing through lush rhododendron and oak forests. The trail is rich in biodiversity, with chances to spot Himalayan black bears, langurs, and even red pandas. After a steady ascent, we arrive at Lama Hotel, a peaceful spot nestled within the forest.

  • As we leave Lama Hotel, the trail gradually opens up, revealing spectacular views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m). We pass through Ghora Tabela, a small settlement with a military checkpoint, before reaching Langtang Village, a traditional Tamang village with stunning mountain views. This area was heavily impacted by the 2015 earthquake, but the resilient community has since rebuilt their homes and lodges.

  • Today’s trek is shorter but incredibly scenic as we move further into the Langtang Valley. The landscapes become more alpine, with fewer trees and more wide-open pastures. After a few hours, we arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, home to an ancient Buddhist monastery, a local yak cheese factory, and panoramic Himalayan views.

  • To make the most of this stunning location, we take a rest day for acclimatization and exploration. Hikers can opt for a day hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) or Tserko Ri (5,000m), both offering breathtaking 360-degree views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and the surrounding peaks. Alternatively, we explore the glacial moraines, Buddhist shrines, and yak pastures in the area.

  • After enjoying the best views of Langtang Valley, we retrace our steps back to Lama Hotel. The descent is easier as we lose altitude, allowing us to enjoy the lush forest surroundings once again. Along the way, we take in the changing landscapes and say goodbye to the high-altitude terrain.

  • Our final trekking day takes us back to Syabrubesi, following the same forested trails along the Langtang River. We celebrate the completion of our trek with a relaxing evening in Syabrubesi, reflecting on the journey through this spectacular valley.

  • We take a scenic drive back to Kathmandu, retracing the route through mountain roads and villages. Once back in the capital, you can relax, shop for souvenirs, or explore more of the city. In the evening, we enjoy a farewell dinner, celebrating the incredible journey through the Langtang Valley.

  • After an unforgettable Himalayan adventure, it's time to say goodbye. A Lost in the Himalaya representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure flight.
